TADPOLE TOTS
Tadpole Tots is a family business which was established in 2012 by Becky & Keith Harrison-Smith. Becky and Keith are the proud parents to four boys – Zachary, Ollie, Arlo and Miller – The newest member of the Harrison –Smith family who made an early appearance in January 2014. Both of the older Harrison-Smith boys have been swimming since a young age and Ollie was only 10 days old when he attended his first lesson.
Becky and Keith decided to start their own swim school in 2012, Becky had held many instructor positions over the years but wanted to start her own swim school that would allow her to add her own touch to baby and children swim lessons. Their objective was to create a fun and relaxed swim school that would allow children to reach their full potential both in and out of the pool. They achieve this through fun and structured lessons, taught by teachers who have a passion for teaching children vital swimming skills that they will use throughout their lives…… but it didn’t stop there…..
Becky is the swimming half of the Husband & Wife team and has been teaching swimming for many years to a variety of tadpoles and frogs, from babies to 60 year old adults. Her qualifications are varied and she holds STA Awards in Teaching, baby & preschool swimming, pool safety and Aquacise. She has also been rescued tested to 2.8 metres.
Susie joined the team after taking her son to our lessons when he was just 10 weeks old she loved the songs (especially the surfing song!) Being a swim instructor allows Susie to have a fantastic great work/life balance and she is the happiest that she has ever been. Susie loves teaching children and watching them develop in to confident swimmers. When not belting out the surfing song Susie enjoys meals out and bubbles….. of the Prosecco variety!
Essie is a qualified Swimming teacher that Becky found whilst surfing the internet looking at Facebook posts on swimming. She is a highly qualified Nanny who enjoys teaching children and parents key skills that they can use in their day to day lives. Outside of the pool Essie still works as a Part Time Nanny and offers families support and training. When not working you cannot keep Essie out of the water as she is also a fan of Kayaking!
Alina joined us in the pool at the start of January 2016, Alina has spent the last year being a Mummy to baby Harri who celebrated his first birthday just before christmas, his birthday cake was a fish which was inspired from a famous song some of you may know. Prior to Harri, Alina has spent the last ten yeas working with children in Schools as an LSA and with the younger ones in nursery, so I am sure not much will phase her regarding children!
Annemarie is really excited to join the Tadpole Tots team after attending lessons with us since her little one was tiny! She’s loved seeing Evelyn grow in confidence, both in the water and socially and is really looking forward to being involved in helping children learn an essential life skill. With her 11 nephews and 5 nieces, Annemarie has vast experience with children of all ages and is looking forward to the challenges your little ones will throw at her!
Allow us to introduce our newest recruit, Trudie, who will be joining Tadpole Tots in a dual capacity - she'll be working both in the office and as a swimming instructor and we're really excited to be welcoming her to the TPT family. Trudie has a three year old whom she has taken swimming since she was 10 weeks old and it is their favourite activity!
